“911. Legends Never Die” was founded in 2013 by Philipp Hohenthanner as a project for porschefans. The main idea was to share the passion for a unique brand
via Social Media and to build up a platform where likeminded can meet, discuss and share their content.
“It is all about passion, friendship and driving a Legend!” - The
Porscheist
Philipp Hohenthanner "The Porscheist", founder & CEO
The first step was the creation of an Instagram account, which reached over 20.000 Follower within less than one year. A page on Facebook and accounts on Twitter,
Tumblr and YouTube follwed. In August 2015, the account @911legendsneverdie reached more than 50.000 people daily. After an
invitation to the official Porsche headquarter in Stuttgart, first cooperating projects with the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG followed, such as a christmas contest on instagram or a testdrive with
the latest generation of the Porsche Panamera.
In 2017 the team of 911. Legends Never Die, which has already grown up to five people - all real Porscheists - decided to give the project a new direction. To
create a new brand.
From now on we decided to seperate our own content, which has become more and more over the years, from the community content - we still want to share.
Thus the 911 LND Magazine and the 911 LND Community was born.
"With our Magazine we want to fucus more on producing own content in the future, such as photos, articles, videos and much more!"
But we still see us as a crowd of enthusiasts and want to stay in touch with other likeminded all over the world. That’s what our Community is for. Under our
hashtag #911LegendsNeverDie which has been used more than 50.000 times already on Instagram, we still share the best content of our members and fans.
In order to give our ideas a solid foundation refering legal issues and tasks, the company with the name Legends Never Die UG (haftungsbeschränkt) was founded in
November 2017 as the legal owner of the accounts.
From the beginning, Social Media was an integral part of our project. We knew that a platform for porsche enthusiasts all over the world, could only spread on
social media. Therefore we've been relying on well nown platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from the beginning on, generating a steady growth.
"Today we can proudly claim to be one of the biggest and best known social communities for porschefans worldwide!"
Every day we reach millions of fans with our posts. But even more our project is characterized by the contributions of our users themselves! We understand ourself
as a "Social Blog" - A term that was created by our founder & CEO Mr. Philipp Hohenthanner. The difference between a common "Blog" and a "Social Blog" is the origin of the
content.
Normal Blogs are usually written by one or maybe a few people. So it is much more than just a modern form of a newspaper or magazine. Similar to our new developed
format the 911 LND Magazine. Social blogging in contrast means that the full content comes directly from its members.
So it isn't primarely created my a certain editorial stuff or editor but organized. So with the community we want to go new ways. In a certain sense you could even
sa we are entering new journalistic territory with this idea, where against the Magazine is a classic form of online newspaper.
